A CNC Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing computer-numeric-controlled (CNC) machinery and systems for precision manufacturing
. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, CNC programming, and machine operation.
• Review and understand all of the manufacturing requirements, including the desired output of the machinery to be automated, the design of the components to be manufactured, the sequence of the machine operations, and the total time that the operational process requires. The CNC program that you create to control the machinery will be based on these factors.
• You will be tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of all CNC machines and troubleshooting any problems that arise.
• Troubleshoot and optimize CNC machine performance, identifying and resolving issues related to machine setup, programming, and operation.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including machine manuals, operating procedures, and maintenance schedules.
• You must also maintain a centralized program database and detailed records on all CNC machines.
• Assist Quality with the preparation of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
• Additional duties may include training and supervising other machinists, researching new equipment requirements, and fielding customer inquiries.
