PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Cost & Contract Manager is responsible for leading and managing the bidding process within the organization, especially the construction sector. This role requires a deep understanding of the construction industry, procurement processes, and a proven track record in managing complex bidding projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive bidding strategy and process aligned with the company's overall business objectives and market conditions.
- Collaborate with project teams, design, estimators, and legal departments to develop accurate and compliant bid documents.
Sourcing and Vendor Selection:
- Research and identify potential suppliers.
- Evaluate suppliers' capabilities, reputation, and pricing.
- Select and sign contracts with suitable suppliers.
Organizing and managing the bidding process:
- Organize meetings to answer bidders' questions.
- Prepare request for proposal (RFP).
- Evaluate bids and select the winning bidder.
- Manage the contract execution process.
Negotiation and contract execution:
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible pricing and contract terms.
- Draft and execute purchase agreements.
- Monitor and manage contract performance.
Quality and delivery management:
- Monitor the delivery process and acceptance.
- Control the quality of goods and services.
- Resolve issues related to quality and delivery.
Risk management:
- Identify and assess risks in the procurement process.
- Develop plans to prevent and mitigate risks.
Team management:
- Recruit, train, and develop department staff.
- Assign tasks and evaluate performance.
- Build a collaborative and continuously improving work culture.
Improvements:
- Develop and implement effective supplier relationship management strategies to ensure optimal pricing and performance.
- Conduct thorough market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and cost modeling to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering.
- Track and analyze bidding performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in the construction sector.
Other tasks will be assigned by Line Manager
