A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT AUTOMATION/MES ENGINEER
Main Purpose of Job
:
- As a key person in E&A team to work through all the design, implementation and start-up phases of project, having close alignment and collaboration with multiple stakeholders through the project life cycle, in Automation/MES area.
- The role is to support the E&A leader in plan, coordinate, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within Capex budget for the project. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
- Deliver expertise to project in area of Automation/MES ensuring full compliances, health and safety, product safety and environment are never compromised.
Key Outputs:
1. Automation System Design:
- Working with process user/TCU and design consultant to finalize the required system design (including URS, P&ID and TPM characteristics) within the deadline.
- Support the E&A Leader in defining the project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in the responsible area.
- Closely working with draftsman in developing the installation designs (BIM). Ensure system design fulfill process operation and automation requirement per Nestlé standard & requirements.
2. Project Management:
- Supporting E&A lead to create detailed project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Identify potential issues,and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Execute the site Automation/MES installation works and monitor the progress.
- Manage the day-to-day operations aspects of the project - Automation/MES works and support the equipment installation.
3. Lead and Manage:
- Mobilize resources (internal & external).
- Coordinate with external installation team to ensure a safe and smooth installation execution; resolves any conflict between owner-contractors and among contractors.
- Execute on Automation/MES installation and commissioning timely by making sure final product and testing quality level is appropriate.
4. Safety and Health:
- Conducts safety audits.
- Implement site SHE protocols to ensure installation work is done is a safe manner, observing all company/governmental regulations.
- Promote development of environmental-friendly and sustainable solutions.
5. Standard and Compliance:
- Ensure that installation by contractors is according to specifications and comply with relevant regulations and Nestle’s standards.
