Senior IT Engineer (Open-Source, Linux)

The Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support core software functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all infrastructure systems and internal development environments. The Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize client success. Primary responsibilities include:
M
anaging the day-to-day operations (24x7 escalation support on a rotating schedule) of software and systems.
Deploying new systems, following change management procedures, and adhering to service level objectives.
Maintaining data center equipment and ensuring system connectivity.
Applying patches and upgrades, optimizing performance and resources, and conducting audits for security and disaster recovery.
Providing support for incidents and requests, responding to alerts, and ensuring system stability and performance.
Collaborating
with cross-functional teams is essential to identify and resolve client system issues.
Creating and maintaining documentation related to system configurations and service records.
Monitoring system performance and providing performance statistics and reports.

Network topology and infrastructure expertise.
At least 4 years of experience in a Senior IT support or system/network Engineering role.
Proficiency in setting up, operating, maintaining, controlling Open-source systems and applications.
Working knowledge of server and workstation infrastructure.
Working knowledge of storage area network and network attached storage systems.
Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general infrastructure management best practices.
Have knowledge of ISMS Standard (ISO 9001; ISO 27001) and ITIL framework is an advantage
Strong understanding of Virtual Private Networking and other remote access tools.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
