Senior Manager - Medical Products leads and partners extensively with cross functional stakeholders to define, develop and implement the overall product strategies for the organisation’s business and market development. He/She drives the execution of product strategies to ensure the organ isation continues to evolve and be the leading figure in the industry. He/She leads the team with a focus on enhancing the definition and growth of the product in its market. He/She oversees the development and management of the product’s roadmap based on the adopted strategies and vision. He/She also provides guidance and advice on KOL management best practices to foster and anchor good relationships with the organisation’s KOL.
1. Overall Leadership
- Define the product strategy and roadmap that is aligned with the organisation’s objectives and goals.
2. Business Development & Management
- Develop principal management process including principal categories, conduct category analysis, develop and track principal performance metrics focusing on cost, quality, delivery, continuous improvement and sustainability.
- Oversee the conduct of business reviews with principals to evaluate sales performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Negotiate targets, KPIs and any other performance metrics with principals to ensure they are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time limited; and the organisation’s position and objectives are not compromised.
- Build and further establish market position for the organisation by using knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the organisation’s unique value proposition and differentiators.
- Develop and foster strategic partnerships with principals for long-term growth and sustainability.
- Identify, evaluate and manage new and strategic business opportunities and potential partnerships.
- Partner with management to research, identify, analyse and execute new or improvise existing business initiatives.
- Develop and direct mid- to long-term strategies to facilitate improvements for business development activities.
- Lead market research and trend analysis to assess, quantify and qualify existing and potential markets and/or segments.
- Study and monitor market conditions to deploy and support long-term strategy and action planning.
- Under guidance of Country Managing Director, to develop Education and Training as a revenue generating product in its own right in line with the strategic needs and direction of the organization.
3. KOL Management
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for partnership strategy, governance and execution.
- Maintain thorough understanding of key principals’ management team and market and product strategies to manage business relationships.
- Design and implement post-event evaluation procedures and activities including but not limited to feedback and satisfaction surveys.
- Represent the organisation at industry conference, speaking engagements, social media and other channels.
- Oversee KOL network management and satisfaction; develop and implement KOL database.
- Review results and report on the effectiveness of each event and workshop using predetermined KPIs.
- Lead in the planning and execution of all engagement activities with KOLs
- Review and approve all events and workshops expenditures.
4. Product Management
- Design and implement product positioning strategy that effectively distinguishes from the products of competitors and defines product value offering to the customers to ensure longer-term success.
- Plan and prioritize the launch of products based on the evaluation of market potential with principals and Field Sales & Services, including support sales team on key opportunities as required.
- Lead in the identification, assessment and prioritization of market opportunities to develop new and refine existing product roadmaps.
- Drive the organisation’s product portfolio to ensure the design and execution of a robust and innovative suite of products that will enable the organisation to differentiate and compete successfully.
- Maintain product and market knowledge; analyze and stay abreast of market trends.
- Work closely with a cross-functional team, including sales and operations departments, to forecast and review inventory levels to ensure optimal working capital for the organization.
- Manage product performance to identify areas for continual improvement; regularly conduct product review and rationalization to eliminate or revise unprofitable product items from the product catalogue.
- Identify, establish and develop a relationship with principals; negotiate optimal terms for sourcing and performance criteria aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
- Establish metrics to measure effectiveness and drive improvements.
- Define market opportunities and develop product briefs through best practice research and industry-wide benchmarking.
- Develop and review product strategy to ensure alignment with sales strategy.
- Develop and implement demo management policies and procedures to ensure consistency in demonstration sessions and that all demo units are properly accounted for.
- Monitor demo tracking mechanism and/or system to ensure the organization has real-time visibility of its assets.
- Manage and monitor samples and demo units order and utilization.
5. Training & Education
- Develop product training and education programs for field support personnel and customers.
- Conduct market research and share findings and information.
- Oversee product training efforts for all touch-points to both internal and external customers, including documentation, e-training tools, and FAQs.
- Coach and develop key personnel to ensure competency and consistency in job performance.
- Participate in trade exhibitions and workshops to stay abreast of product knowledge and skills.
- Plan and oversee the organization of training and education activities, including workshops and seminars, for healthcare providers.
- Lead in the development of curriculum and course materials to train and educate the sales and product teams.
- Partner with principals in the development of training programs, product evaluation trials, and feedback surveys for new products.
6. Regulatory Affairs
- Build and foster strong and positive working relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Formulate and implement product regulatory affairs policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify business gaps and risks as a result of changes in regulatory policies and/or standards.
- Oversee regulatory-related activities including but not limited to audits, regulatory agency inspections, and product recalls.
- Direct and review the preparation and submission of regulatory agency applications, reports, and correspondence to ensure timeliness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
- Establish and enforce a quality assurance framework, in-process product inspection, and pre-delivery check policies and procedures to ensure quality and reliability of all products.
- Provide guidance and advice to management and external partners on regulatory-related matters including product registration, quality control, and certification matters.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all product regulatory-related processes.
- Lead and drive the implementation of the quality management system including ISO and GDP.
7. Management System
- Involved in planning and managing management system based on quality management system, quality management system for medical devices, and anti-bribery management system.
- Responsible for socializing the system to all divisions and ensuring the effectiveness of the running system.
- Analyze corrective actions for system effectiveness in divisions.
