Position Objective:
Vietnamese History Teacher is expected to carry out the instructions of Vietnamese Curriculum required by MOET and any other duties as assigned by the Principal in consultation with the Head of School.
Responsibilities: The Vietnamese History Teacher reports to the Principal, and perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to
* Teaching & Learning
1. Manage student learning through effective teaching in accordance with the Vietnamese Curriculum’s schemes of work and policies.
2. Prepare materials for class activities and visual aids; and to research new sources of supplies for History lessons.
3. Ensure continuity, progression and cohesiveness in all teaching through effective planning.
4. Use a variety of teaching methods and approaches, including group work, active learning to match curricular objectives and the range of student needs.
5. Use positive management of behavior in an environment of mutual respect which allows students to feel safe and secure and promotes their self-esteem.
* Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting, and Accountability
1. Be responsible for the processes of identification, assessment, recording and reporting of Vietnamese History in accordance with the requirements of the MOET of Vietnam.
2. Assess students’ work systematically and use the results to inform future planning and teaching.
3. Be familiar with statutory assessment and reporting procedures and to prepare and present informative, helpful and accurate reports to parents.
4. Organise school Culture events, National Day, Moon festival; to organise subject Field Trips.
5. Prepare teaching documentations as required by the MOET of Vietnam
* Subject Knowledge & Understanding
1. Have a thorough and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the Vietnamese Curriculum programmes of Geography and History subjects.
2. Professional Standards & Development
3. Be a role model to students through personal presentation and professional conducts.
4. Arrive in class, on or before the start of the lesson, and to begin and end lessons on time.
5. Strive for personal and professional development through active involvement in the School’s PD programme where appropriate.
6. Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of teachers’ professional duties in accordance with the teaching philosophy of the School and the requirements of the MOET of Vietnam.

The job holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young person’s for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the relevant Cognita Safeguarding; Child Protection Policy and Procedures at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the role, the job holder identifies any instance that a child is suffering or likely to suffer significant harm either at school or at home, s/he must report any concerns to the School’s Child Protection Officer/Designated Safeguarding Lead or to the Head or indeed to the Regional CEO so that a referral can be made accordingly to the relevant third party services.
