The Business Director is responsible for overseeing the financial, operational, and administrative functions of the school, with a strong emphasis on marketing strategies and initiatives. This role includes budget planning and management, financial reporting, marketing, facilities management, enrolment, and strategic planning to ensure the school operates efficiently and effectively. A strong background in marketing is strongly preferred, though candidates with robust experience in business or finance will also be considered. While previous experience within an educational institution is not required, we are open to candidates from various fields who can bring fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to our school’s operations and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketing and Enrolment:
● Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the school and attract new students.
● Oversee the admissions process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for prospective families.
● Analyze market trends and adjust strategies to maintain the school’s competitive edge.
● Manage the school’s brand, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
- Financial Management:
● Develop and oversee the school’s annual budget in collaboration with the Superintendent and the Board of Directors.
● Monitor and manage financial performance, ensuring alignment with the budget and strategic goals.
● Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
● Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
● Manage the school’s accounts, including payroll, invoicing, and accounts payable/receivable.
● Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Operational Management:
● Coordinate and oversee daily operations (procurement, asset management, cost controls…) across all departments to ensure seamless workflow and productivity.
● Lead cross-functional teams to execute the School’s initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with the School’s objectives.
● Foster interdepartmental communication and collaboration to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
● Lead the development/review and implementation of operational policies and procedures
● Monitor departments’ KPIs/OKRs to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvement.
● Facilitate regular meetings with department managers to review progress, address challenges, and ensure continuous improvement.
● Ensure effective resource allocation and utilization across departments to support business goals and growth.
- Human Resources:
● Promote a positive and productive work environment.
● Work closely with HR and Admin team to develop the annual workforce plan
- Strategic Planning:
● Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan.
● Identify and pursue opportunities for growth and improvement.
● Provide input on policy development and implementation.
● Work collaboratively with the leadership team to achieve the school’s mission and goals.
