Involve the development and engineering all Polymer formulations, performance foams/components, and other chemical compounds and bottom components for Deckers Brands.
• T2 vendor process audit and work closely with dev com team to ensure a ready supply of materials and components available and ahead of Deckers Brands’ growth.
• Support new innovative compound developments and assure Deckers owns the formulation.
• Ensure a supply availability of the world-class quality of rubber, EVA, PU, and thermoplastic components and adhesive applications, and other chemical products from T1/T2 within the country. Acts as the expert technical resource to the BU for all chemical related issues.
• Ensure a treatment, primer, adhesive and bonding processes at T1 follow industry-leading practices and works closely with T1 and T2 adhesive and chemical suppliers to continuously improve quality standards.
• Works with Quality, Production and T1 to study or identify a root cause of the quality claims that relate to EVA, Rubber, PU, Adhesive, Ink & Paint and Process conditions including a corrective action taken.
• Provides the technical expertise to ensure compliance of rubber and EVA compounds and adhesive systems, monitors compliance, and modifies formulations as standards evolve.
• Responsible for all T1 and related T2 compound costs, based on thorough understanding of raw material and chemical markets. Validation of the CBD in development stage, collects all cost driven factors together with Development Quality, Costing and T1/T2 teams on a Cycle time, output per hour, % defect rate, process optimum loss and ensure a fair and reasonable figure deal for all parties.
• Get involve if any constrains of the supply availability and delivery lead-time related during the production stage.
• Leads VOC reduction efforts and works closely with adhesive & chemical suppliers and Manufacturing Excellent team on the best practice, Bonding program, new technology of machinery or chemical to enable implement an effective VOC reduction, Eco friendly, Human safety, PPH, Cost saving and production efficiency.
• Leads the implementation of new technologies to improve efficiency of bonding, molding, printing, and painting processes in collaboration with Manufacturing Excellence team. The PU Direct injection soling as an example.
• Support sustainability initiatives with T1/T2/T3, Brands, and Innovation team on the sustainable topic of bottom materials or finished components i.e. Bio-based, Loop Recycle, Organic fillers, Low carbon footprint in manufacturing processes, Eco & Environment friendly raw-material, FSC rubber.
• Utilizes QIP and audit tools to ensure compliance with Deckers quality specifications and standard working processes in the related field.
