Responsibilities:
The Communications Manager’s primary role is to ensure the strategic story of the School is being told effectively to support the Mission, Vision and Values of the school, and specifically to:
- Outstanding faculty that we would want to recruit
- Our own multi-cultural mosaic of UNIS Hanoi families, engaging them in our School and its Vision
- Prospective families considering UNIS Hanoi as their School of choice
- Our Alumni demonstrating our Mission in action
- Our local Hanoi community as a point of pride
- Our peer community of international schools as leaders in our field.
The Communications Manager ensures the foundations and systems are in place and are both effectively and creatively utilised to maximise communication potential for UNIS Hanoi and its community.
The Communications Manager works with and supports the Director of Marketing & Communications and together they have a responsibility to support communications endeavours schoolwide with special reference to Division Principals and the Enrolment Management team.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensure UNIS Hanoi has a unique and consistent brand and voice which is appropriate and engaging for a wide range of Audiences and materials with a style guide to support it.
- Manage the School’s visual identity
, ensuring consistent usage and appropriate use.
- Coordinate, create and edit content for all publications from the website to weekly newsletters.
- Provide written content for a variety of initiatives and stakeholders including external publications and/or stakeholders.
- Provide support for School Leadership and a variety of stakeholders with content and communications coordination including support for the Director of Marketing & Communications and Head of School (and/or Board) in Crisis Communications.
- Ability to work with our third party videographer and come up with powerful video scripts and storylines to promote all aspects of school life.
- Actively seek stories from our community from both a ‘strategic wishlist’ and an ‘opportunistic newslist’.
- Manage the user experience and design for the UNIS Hanoi websit
e.
- Manage and develop functionality and content for the UNIS Hanoi Portals
(Parent, Faculty & Staff and Student), coordinating integration with communication tools (email, blogs and calendar).
- Prepare and distribute press releases and coordinate media coverage for key events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and international media to promote UNIS Hanoi’s activities and achievements.
- Create the weekly Tin Tuc
newsletter and send it to the whole school community.
- Provide support for the promotion of school events, before, during and after.
- Manage the use of Social Media
platforms to enhance our institutional reputation.
- Manage the UNIS Hanoi digital media archive
in cross-division partnerships (IT, Tech Coordinators) with the support of the Digital Content Officer.
- Manage a school wide electronic noticeboard
network, supporting planned, decentralised content control. Ongoing quality control and Division liaison.
- Supervise the Communications & Scholarships Officer in the production of all UNIS Hanoi publications for which Marketing and Communications is responsible, and manage the production schedules to ensure timely publication.
- Supervise the Digital Content and Design Officer in the production and management of all digital media content including photos, videos, graphic design, digital media archive system and coordination with external vendors.
- As Editor in Chief for the Yearbook
, supervise its annual production for an outstanding celebration of every year and the official record of the School’s history for its community.
