As the Director of Engineering, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and guide the engineering teams based in Vietnam. Your role will involve establishing and articulating the strategic objectives of the organization, while also working with Project Managers to delineate the Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) into discrete project initiatives. Additionally, you will be expected to devise and present comprehensive organizational strategies and technological resolutions aimed at advancing Josys's business and product objectives over a one-year time frame.
Responsibilities:
• Resource and Organizational Planning:
Collaborate with the Project Manager (VPoE) to refine and finalize the developer resources and organizational structure, aligning them with the project's needs for a one-year period.
• Strategic Goal Setting and KPI Definition
: Establish overarching goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the organization, and periodically dissect these objectives into actionable targets for individual teams every six months.
• Performance Enhancemen
t: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the organization, fostering momentum and elevating the overall performance levels of the teams.
• Team Leadership: Directly oversee the activities of multiple teams, focusing on nurturing the development of emerging talent and the next generation of leaders and managers within the organization.
• I nformation Transparency
: Ensure transparency of information flow within the organization by facilitating effective communication channels, including document dissemination from top-level direction to stakeholders and evaluation feedback from direct reports.
Others:
• Technical Issue Resolution:
Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to identify and define technical challenges associated with product development, and provide well-grounded solutions along with actionable plans to address them.
• Quality Assurance:
Establish a strong partnership with the Product Manager to ensure the high quality of the product, emphasizing adherence to quality standards and user expectations.
• Performance Metrics Alignment:
Collaborate with the Product Manager to ascertain the most suitable methods for measuring product performance. This includes identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) and coordinating their adoption among stakeholders.
• Strategic Goal Setting:
Lead the process of defining strategic goals encompassing performance enhancement, engagement improvement, and brand development across the organization. These goals should be clearly articulated and aligned with the organization's overarching mission and objectives.
