Quantity Surveyor

- Select and/or source construction materials.
- Estimate the cost of materials, work out what labor will be needed, manage budgets while construction is taking place, and ensure work is completed within its projected budget.
- Measure and value the work done on-site.
- Price/forecast the cost of the different components needed for a project.
- Source contractors and/or subcontractors to work on the construction stage of the project.
- Deal with financial and legal problems.
- Handle breach of contracts in a timely manner.
- Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
- Pay contractors.
- Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers, and site engineers.
- Develop and implement effective procurement proposals.
