Job Summary
The Resource Development and Communications Specialist will:
1) Contribute to the development and implementation of the resource development and communications strategy of Habitat Vietnam, supplementing the advancement of overall engagement and fund development performance while facilitating the application of best practices in Foundation, Organization, Institutional (FOI), corporate and major gifts fundraising.
2) Support and develop local partnerships and contribute to project development and the drafting of quality proposals, facilitating and coordinating fundraising initiatives and communication campaigns.
3) Deliver high quality communication materials to different audiences, ensuring deepened relationships with donors and partners, including enhanced and effective media outreach.
4) Lead the implementation of specific initiatives e.g., housing forum.
5) This position will also be a stakeholder in Habitat Vietnam’s Advocacy Committee
6) Establish and manage key constituents to elicit support for and maximize impact of advocacy efforts of Habitat Vietnam

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Resource development
• Identify funding and partnership prospects and opportunities to mobilize support for the realization of Habitat Vietnam’s strategic plan
• Cultivate corporate, FOI, affiliate pipelines, targets, forecasts, pre-positioning activities, Go/No Go, proposal development processes and the review of proposals together with the Habitat Vietnam Development Team.
• Proactively identify and nurture partnerships with INGOs/NGOs/For Profit as well as private sector entities who can help Habitat Vietnam access new funding streams (e.g. networking, presenting about Habitat Vietnam to find new opportunities)
• Build and maintain effective relationships domestically and regionally alongside the RD&C Manager and Habitat Vietnam leadership in accordance with the organization’s strategy and plans
• Prepare briefings and other information materials that support Habitat Vietnam leadership with corporate, FOI, affiliate engagement as needed.
• Develop and manage an active relationship with counterparts (including HFHI Global Funding Network and other platforms to gather funding intelligence or leads
• Analyze opportunity and donor requirements
• Develop donor (corporate, FOI, affiliate…) database and regular monitoring/sharing of opportunities in line with Habitat Vietnam targeted donors and partners
• Support the development of specific annual resource development targets and implementation of strategies (including but not limited to grant development and acquisition, annual appeals, special fundraising events – international and corporate/major donor sponsored events locally/domestic CSR, etc.)
• Manage campaigns and events (i.e. Housing Forum, Habitat Youth Leaders Build, World Habitat Day, etc.) together with the volunteer and institutional engagement team and collaborated with counterparts at the regional level
• Coordinate donor/partner visits and provide general support, as needed, and develop itineraries that will strongly engage prospect donors
• Coordinate resource development and engagement activities together with other departments and across programs-project leads and national office support teams
• Develop and implement local and international engagement programs (for high-net-worth individuals, influencers /celebrities, cause marketing partners, among others)
• Creatively bring about fit-for-purpose, current and agile engagement and fundraising programs befitting the Vietnamese context
• Effectively represent Habitat Vietnam in meetings
2. Stewardship
• Support the cultivation and stewardship of resources and relationships
• Contribute to grant tracking and monitor donor compliance
3. Communications
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Habitat Vietnam’s five-year resource development and communications strategies.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
• Review, draft, update and socialize internal communications
• Disseminate Branding Guidelines, Photo and Communication Policy, etc. and build internal capacity
• Support relevant departments in managing the inventory of stock.
• Collaborate with other departments in organizing internal culture activities such as annual staff conference, family day, staff meeting, communication training for staff, etc.
EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
• Contribute to the development of communication plan for the organization, including Habitat Vietnam’s advocacy communications plan
• Develop and maintain a variety of creative external communications materials and lead the distribution management: program briefs, country profiles, monthly e-newsletter, annual report, program reports, most significant change and impact stories, web and social media updates, campaign materials, etc.
• Manage Habitat Vietnam website and social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram & Twitter) and GROW Habitat Vietnam’s presence in them
• Manage campaigns and special events in partnership with Volunteer and Institutional Development (i.e., Habitat Young Leaders Build, World Habitat Day, etc.)
• Manage design agencies or third-party creatives when needed
• Lead the overall media coordination and outreach, including the management of media database serving as the organization’s media contact
• Coordinate and work closely with schools in Vietnam to establish the Habitat Club in accordance with HFHI and with Vietnam regulations
• Write homeowner, community, partner impact stories, most significant change stories, progress stories and manage publication and distribution
• Manage the design and production of Habitat Vietnam merch / collaterals; procure samples and finished products
• Monitoring branding application
• Monitor translations and transcriptions of Vietnamese to English language vice-versa of media coverage and the like
• Provide translation for key events such as project launch ceremonies, housing forum, round table discussion, house dedication or internal workshop and meetings
• Manage photo and video assets of Habitat Vietnam
• Organize and participate in external networking and marketing communications events
• Collaborate with Asia Pacific Communications team for regional campaigns and events
• Work across the organization, building strong relationships with colleagues to stay informed of latest organizational and field developments
• Conduct relevant administrative activities as required
4. Managing assets and budget
• Manage the annual budget for Communications to strategically and tactically grow Habitat Vietnam’s profile and outreach
• Set and control a new budget for content marketing and paid-for digital advertising to increase Habitat Vietnam’s engagement through social media channels
• Propose potential vendors to Finance team for the continuous live review and update of the Master Vendor list.
• Manage communications asset movement and inventory in collaboration with the Finance Department (if needed)
• Approve localized communication materials
• Confirm logistical requirements on behalf of the team
• Assign RDC assets to relevant staff during special fundraising events/builds
• Provide Habitat Vietnam information to various legitimate partners
• Directly manage junior (entry level) staff or intern/s that will support in the overall resource development & communications of Habitat Vietnam
5. Compliance and alignment with policies

• Engage in and maintain a safe working relationship with colleagues and local partners in accordance with HFH Vietnam policies
• Respect and safeguard the rights and dignities of all people, and protect our staff members, volunteers, partners, beneficiaries, research participants, and community members (especially vulnerable adults and children) from bullying, sexual abuse and exploitation, and sexual harassment
Working condition & context
Based in Hanoi with quarterly or bi-quarterly domestic travels and field-based (rural and urban) activities, and some international travels
Standard Performance Expectation
• Core prospecting, prepositioning, fundraising, relationship cultivation and management, and communications objectives are met on time and of high quality
• Through funding acquisitions and formed relationships, contributed to the achievement of Habitat Vietnam’s annual fundraising targets
• Established procedures and guidelines are implemented, monitored and supplemented.
• Written products in both English and Vietnamese are of quality and duly provided to National Office and various programs in a timely manner
• Communication materials are creatively produced and constantly updated
• The level of satisfaction of donors and funding partners is continually high and varying levels of expectations are highly managed
• Events managed successfully are creatively delivered, and with high fundraising and participation turn out
• Habitat Vietnam’s Societal Impact has grown as demonstrated in awareness elevated quality of raising activities, social media efforts, advocacy communications, and media outreach
