Precitec GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized company based in Gaggenau near Karlsruhe (approx. 750 employees worldwide). We are the world market leader for optics for laser cutting machines and systems for quality monitoring of laser welding processes. We also offer high-end optical measuring technology. We have been represented in Japan, Korea and Taiwan for many years with our own sales and service companies and also with our own production in China. We are currently setting up our own sales and service company in India. In the SEA region we have so far only been active via sales representatives. Key sectors for us are the semiconductor industry, consumer electronics (handheld devices), automotive and, more recently, e-mobility (manufacturing of batteries and electric motors) as well as aerospace and, for laser cutting optics, machine manufacturers of laser cutting machines.
Job purpose
Sales engineers (SEs) sometimes called "systems engineers" or "field consultants". This person will procure the sale and be representing the technical aspects of how the product solves specific customer problems. The SE will perform technical presentations for the product. The product expert is dedicated to the success of the product in a specific section of market or territories.
Duties and responsibilities
• Maintain, grow, and support the business for the metrology product line through new business development and existing customer support and account maintenance.
• Enhance and further develop existing customer relationships and establish new accounts and business through an understanding of optical metrology, applications of Precitec’s technology as well as strong technical skills/knowledge, industry awareness and experience.
• Plan, market, organize and conduct product and process trainings for all metrology products and processes.
• Lead marketing efforts for Precitec in Vietnam (e.g. trade shows, conferences, social media, newsletters and technical articles or white papers for print media and online use).
• Keep upper management informed by submitting sales / customer activity and results reports, such as call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses as appropriate.
• Find customized solutions with customers or recommend new products, service, and policy by evaluating customer results and competitive developments.
• Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management and teaming with Applications Engineering in Germany.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Sales and Service support in the field of optical metrology
• Expand business by supporting new sales efforts in South East Asia( Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia) with a priority on Vietnam
• Provide technical support and service for existing customer accounts
• Commissioning of metrology equipment at customer site (install, adjust, troubleshoot, etc.)
• Complete Service calls and remote access to troubleshoot on metrology process, providing process improvement strategies
• Perform customer demonstrations and customer training
• Attend and organize trade shows
