Theatre and Drama Technician

- Keep all areas clean and tidy, ensuring proper storage and safety of equipment and materials.
- Provide assistance with all supporting aspects of School productions, Drama classes, exam performances, and other School events involving performance in the Schools’ Performing Arts Facilities, including set, lighting design, set construction, lighting and sound installation, and classroom assistant duties.
- Maintain all equipment and technical resources in the Drama department to ensure staff and students can utilize them effectively.
- Liaise with the Head of Drama for all School/Drama productions and exam performances.
- Organize materials and equipment needed for lessons, such as performance lighting, sound systems, craft materials, and basic IT/AV support in the classroom.
- Provide audio-visual technical support and advice for other School events and departments when needed.
- Coordinate with the Head of Drama for external hires, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
- Run a Technical Theatre Activity for interested pupils to participate in production preparation and running.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department for ticketing and advertising of productions.
- Support and supervise pupils in design and technical modules for GCSE and IBDP.
- Plan and execute routine maintenance of all Performing Arts equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of all equipment and materials used.
- Perform first-line maintenance support for technical equipment and arrange repairs when necessary.
- Stay updated on technical theatre developments and undergo necessary training.
- Monitor and maintain stock items and order supplies as required.
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met for daily use of performance spaces.
- Implement and advise on the School Health & Safety policy and maintain necessary Risk Assessments.
- Ensure security for equipment, building, staff, and pupils.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the line manager.
