Commercial Engineer

Position Summary:
The Commercial Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of our outdoor furniture products. This role requires a blend of design skills, production knowledge, and market awareness to create products that are cost-efficient and meet target pricing. The ideal candidate will also be well-versed in Western and US seating comfort standards and capable of optimizing product packaging for efficient container loading.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Design & Technical Support: Create comprehensive CAD drawings to aid in the development of new and existing outdoor furniture products, including those made from Aluminum, Teak Wood, and Woven materials.
• Packaging & Loadability Optimization: Evaluate and enhance the packaging and loadability of our furniture to maximize space efficiency and minimize shipping expenses. Devise product designs and packaging solutions to optimize container loading.
• Standards & SOP Development: Develop and implement standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the furniture rendering team to ensure consistency and efficiency in our processes.
• Factory Collaboration: Partner with factories to integrate market-standard materials and hardware into our designs, ensuring these elements are accurately depicted in CAD drawings.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with the Product Development Team and Designers to ensure that project objectives are met and designs align with market demands and company standards. Work closely with QA&QC team to be able to design the right products that pass the required test and be confirm to required certifications.
• Design Optimization: Design products with a focus on reducing material costs and increasing production efficiency, while adhering to target pricing.
• Seating Comfort Standards: Apply knowledge of Western and US seating comfort standards for dining chairs and lounge sets, considering factors such as height, depth, and width.
