Job Overview
The Purchasing Staff
plays a crucial role in ensuring that the company procure goods and services efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role is responsible for providing support to the team in managing supplier relationships, controlling costs, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of the organization through effective procurement practices.
What You’ll be Doing?
• Identifying potential suppliers, conducting vendor evaluations, and negotiating contracts and agreements. This includes assessing supplier capabilities, quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
• Creating purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in terms of quantity, price, and specifications, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communication, resolve issues promptly, and leverage opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Monitoring and controlling procurement costs, negotiating favorable pricing and terms, and identifying opportunities to optimize spending while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborating with quality assurance teams to ensure that purchased goods and services meet the organization's quality standards and specifications.
• Monitoring inventory levels, identifying slow-moving or obsolete inventory, and implementing strategies to minimize inventory carrying costs while ensuring adequate stock levels to meet demand.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies, particularly in areas such as procurement ethics, data security, and environmental sustainability. Mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier reliability, and quality issues.
• Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and supplier performance evaluations. Generating reports and analyses to track procurement KPIs, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
• Proactively seeking opportunities to streamline procurement processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the purchasing function within the organization.
