POSITION SUMMARY
The Advisor Safer Community
is responsible for leading and supporting the development and ongoing operation of the Unit which acts as the initial referral point for harassment and assault disclosures, including unwelcome verbal, physical or virtual behavior that is based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), gender/gender identity, nationality, age (40 or older), physical or mental disability or genetic information.
The Unit has the immediate aim of ensuring the wellbeing and safety of victims, as well as providing longer term support. The Unit is also responsible for obtaining risk assessments and undertaking risk management of students who exhibit concerning behaviour.
The position is also responsible for coordinating and facilitating activities and events that promote a safer community by fostering enhanced wellbeing and destigmatising mental health difficulties.
