Senior Lab Leader (Care Segment)

Mission
This position supports the CARE business in Vietnam, with particular initial focus on personal care.
This role will develop care formulations and prototypes to support customers in the greater Vietnam region. The role will work closely with the Business Director, sales team members, principals and customers to provide technical solutions. This position will also interact with global technical colleagues in APAC, EMEA and the Americas to share formulation concepts and best lab operating practices. This role will also assist the samples department for the preparation of samples to be used by the sales teams.
Main Accountabilities
1. Develop formulations and formulation samples for use by Sales Team and customers
• Lead the development of project plans in collaboration with Business Director, commercial colleagues, customers, and principals.
• Prepare formulations.
• Conduct evaluation of the performance of formulations
• Develop new test methods for formulation performance testing.
• Maintain a laboratory notebook.
• Interpret lab results. Form and report sound conclusions and recommendations in a clear manner.
• Contribute new understanding of unanticipated results. Build the Azelis knowledge base for future projects.
• Conduct lab studies to prepare the formulations and test aspects of their performance.
2. Input new in-house and supplier formulations onto company formulations system for inclusion on the website
3. Implement laboratory procedures
• Always maintain good Health and Safety Procedures in the laboratory. Contribute to improved procedures.
• Ensure accurate records are kept in line with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain stock records where required.
• Perform maintenance on equipment.
4. Support the manufacturing of samples for use by Sales Teams and maintenance of records and stock levels of same;
5. Assisting and support in re-packing of materials for Samples Department and review the implementation of procedures;
6. Manage and cover the holidays in the Samples Department if and when required;
7. Training
• Provide technical training for our commercial and technical colleagues in our lateral value chain of products and formulations;
• Assist commercial colleagues to achieve competitive advantage with the use of Azelis laboratories.
8. Health and Safety
• Responsibility for all health and safety procedures in the laboratory;
• Continuous improvement of health and safety procedures;
• Ensure all team members follow health and safety procedures;
• Provide training to team members where required.
